I spent my youth in the 70s reading Beat Literature. Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg and the rest.
Eastern philosophy was never far in the background. Gary Snyder in particular carried a lot of the dharma weight for them all.
I tried but I could never get into it. Feet too firmly on the ground.
And this, despite the best advice from the Original Sloth Band.
