Oh my goodness, so much to say about this woman and I want to figure out everything about her.
Mazie Trumbull, along with her sister Frances, was an active vaudeville performer around the turn of the last century. Details are not easy to come up with, but apparently she has a connection to Wisconsin - where they have posted an actual photo of Mazie and her sister here.
All I see are assertions that she was famous as a cross-dresser (using the old terminology) and dancer but I can't find much information specifically about that. The posters that exist seem to be from a production called "Dad's Side Partner" in which it may have been part of the role for her to dress as a man. Or maybe she did it in other performances. I will continue to research and will post results here.
In the meantime, I made a mug for a friend's child who I thought would enjoy this. She did! And then I decided to do some more and offer them to the world! Fantastic pictures.
Note that the pictures with the red background are offered on products on other sites, but unrestored. The existing image of this performance is badly damaged. I spent hours restoring it in order to offer the nicest looking products and I'm proud to be behind this much better version of the image.
Here's just a start - see the link for many Mazie products
